Free Daily Question 18:
A mysterious, heavy box arrives at your door, with no indication of who sent it. It is locked with a heavy duty, ballistic proof lock, it requires a password to open it.
On top of the box, there is a letter taped to it. Inside the letter, is the password, along with a message:
"Do you accept?"
I look at the message warily at first, a lone drop of sweat rolling down my face; my brain rushing at full power, thinking of what to do.
I tap the box lightly with my shoe; only the box's muffled metallic thump answering back, as if mocking my cowardice and indecisiveness.
I think about the possibility of it being a trap set by the local gangsters, and look around outside to see if anyone is looking. But I see no one around.
As I walk around the living room, my ill body aches, and next to me on a table, a stack of unpaid bills looms.
A cruel reminder, that I am but a man, who needs money to solve his daily troubles, just like anyone else.
My cat and dogs look at me, their bowls of food half empty.
The truth is clear. I don't have the luxury of thinking this over. I can only hope, that a miracle awaits me inside the box.
And that whatever I accept, is not malicious.
I put in the password, each click of the lock, making my heartbeat faster and faster.
