QoTD 163: Do you think karma exists in some shape or form?
I believe in karma. Good karma results in good luck for me.
When I get lucky, like a series of events ends up on my favour, I consider it as a result of my good karma. And opposite happens for bad karma.

As a Christian, I believe there is definitely some consequences, good and/or bad for certain actions. The whole thing with Christianity after all is to care for everyone, even people who hate you. those who hate you are dealt with by God. Which I've seen happen and it's quite disturbing sometimes.

no in the sense that there is a cosmic force that will increase your good/bad luck depending on your actions

yes in the sense that if you act immorally or dishonestly, your actions will be more likely to have consequences
Don't believe in karma per se but if you act like like a poopiehead all the time then before long you will find yourself surrounded by turds only.

Honestly if you do something like that, then you probably deserve to burn in an inferno or something
no? are you restarted? if someone does something good with the expectation that they will receive something in return, then sure, it's not selfless, but it's certainly not a net negative. the absolute number of good actions in the world still increases, even if the motivations behind one (or some) were performed cynically.

rather, i question the morality of those who would scrutinize the 'good actions' of others on whether they were done with 'pure motivations' or otherwise
