Sorry, but why did these chapters have such weak ass arguments?

How about mentioning consent? Or how what's on the internet (if they want to publish it) is forever?? Employment? etc......

Yay, Creepy Guy got a taste of his own medicine, but like argument-wise Umeki clearly got the longer end of the stick, sure I'm not expecting a thesis, but it can't be that hard to invalidate what he's saying

I think the worst part about this for me is how they portrayed his arguments/logic as strong in the last chapter, where you see neither Akane nor Senpai could argue against him despite that being so stupidly easy to do.

This also kinda harms the entire portrayal of the female cast because it essentially made it so they're too incompetent until Fuyumine steps up. Because of this, this entire arc can kinda be summarized into a damsel in distress story, where Fuyumine swoops in to save Ena who can't fend for herself, and later Akane who can't give a single argument.

Imagine how much different it could have been if they all ganged up together on Umeki and it culminated with Ena stepping out of her shell and giving him a proper piece of her mind. Instead Fuyumine does everything, and Ena's only input is saying no to being sexually exploited, and the rest of the cast also doesn't get to do anything but react.

And even then all Fuyumine accomplished was to say "using people bad" and then left it at that. He had so many arguments he could have used that would directly invalidate Umeki, but instead he just calls him names and tells him to grow some balls. And you're supposed to cheer him on because Umeki is portrayed as so comically evil you have no other choice (and I think that's part of why he's so evil, so there doesn't have to be much thought put into his take down, because he's so evil any take down is seen as good).

This entire arc is just really poorly written imo. For a series so focused on movies and the industry in general, it leaves so much to be desired when the characters don't properly address a director exploiting his staff/cast. I'm honestly glad this is over.

don't all of these clubs have a teacher advisor or something? if i was there i would have just asked to see umeki's script and then pass it off to their advisor or another teacher. no reason to get into a 3 chapter long emotional argument with this creep

Agreed that Umeki got off far too easy. He got told off and exposed as a hypocrite and a hack. OH NO!

The climax was about shock value and about consent. Consent is murkier than we'd like to think; often people "tricked" into consenting are held legally accountable.

The resolution feels odd. The club goes to win a word fight and put Umeki in his place, instead of... saying no and walking off without letting him argue, or having Ena never go back at all. And Umeki, shameless twat, has no reason to stop trying to manipulate fragile girls. They even told him to "go harass some other girls."

Getting consent is framed as a battle of wits, not as a possible crime. Umeki was violating consent by gaslighting and I think he deserves more shit. Make him star in a Lars Von Trier remake or something! Walk your Talk, Umeki!

It's all very well that Ena has been released from her promise to star in Umeki's movie, but after 15 chapters we aren't even one centimetre nearer to solving the initial problem of how to avoid the film club being disbanded...

I don't even think this is over it'll definitely drag on for one or two more chapters. And I agree, the execution of it is honestly pretty poor. There's so many different arguments they could have used but they're devaluing all the characters by having them either unable to argue back (which is stupid) or having thin shallow arguments.

It was so obvious that this was going to be the final solution now I want to know what that idiot has to say I guess he will apologize or maybe he will make the movie and it will be a total failure maybe the protagonists will show him how to make a movie with the script they already made

I really don't care what media it's in.

I will never, ever get tired of seeing pieces of shit get wrecked, whether verbally, emotionally, or physically.
