I just hope there's no normal romcom stupid tropes, for real. If you're going to make something different, then do it. And I hope the MC just doesn't turn in the "Oh, but I don't know if she loves me, so I can't ask her out" and things like that, it's not supposed to be this kinda of thing, right??
Sei-chan is cute, and even tho the MC already got some kinda of downgrade in personality, I hope it doesn't get worse, and he just keeps going to get her heart.

As far as has been translated, Yuuichi has yet to pick a girl but both of them have honestly confessed their feelings to him (perhaps too honestly). Tojoin's attitude changed and they're both currently openly competing fairly for his affection.

I thought the same thing the first time I read it but when I re read it recently it actually made a little more sense in the context of the MC saying "You won't know how someone feels about you if you don't go and say it. That's why I keep telling Sei-chan that I like her, as well as telling Rie that she's cute."

It kind of felt a little fairer than just “I the love triangle from the manga”. He wanted Yuuichi to know what’s going on so he makes his own decision fully informed. And since the manga was ongoing he didn’t know the MCs true feelings either.

That's a smart plan for Hisamura to do. Make sure Tojoin-san doesn't ruin the date of Yuuichi and Shiho by making sure Tojoin-san doesn't know about the date in the first place. I wonder how Hisamura and Sei-chan will distract her though.

In fairness Yuuichi doesn’t have any gfs yet. He is trying to date one and the other he isn’t interested in but is interfering.

In the manga the MC read before coming into the world yes Yuuichi has two girls trying to be his GF but he hasn’t chosen either yet. Yuuichi is the typical indecisive lead while the MC in the role of the sidekick is trying to create his own love story and make the tertiary character, Sei, happy.

and trying to make his sister happy too although that’s only vaguely mentioned at this point. But it has been mentioned that she was another “losing heroine” tertiary character like Sei.

I don't believe he is in danger of being beheaded of banished to another kingdom. He is simply wooing a girl he likes and doesn't care about the other stuff, because there is nothing of interest in for him. Also the story ends with highschool, I guess, so there isn't too much really important to know.
