it's a completely different thing. i didnt hook up.

to this day he's dedicated 12 years out of a 21 year career to this manga (he had 5 volumes out at the time of the anime),
he's been pulling out two volumes a year effectively solo, an insane production rate for an european author.

French-japanese collabs have happened before, and ankama has ties with japanese editors, so i guess he got introduced to an nhk exec at some point.

that's the kind of thing that made arcane happen.

So.. my opinion on getting an anime as a western author? get yourself up to ankama, label 619 levels. they are litterally the only ones who achieved that.
it's not easy.
