Damn, that is a big tumor. Hit a little close to home for me too, since a random chest x-ray is how we found out my mom had lung cancer

She's doing OK though since they found it early enough, hope the same is with this guy. He and his wife are just too cute

Really, a CT for a routine chest checkup? I would think an X-ray would be more warranted no? CTs have a decent amount of radiation compared to a CXR.

IIRC, a well tuned CT gives a comparable irradiation, and much more useful diagnostics

depends on the density of the tumor but it wont show up in X-ray if its in early stages unless you know where youre looking for, CT still gives a better imaging compared to X-ray for soft tissues

Don't forget they are highly specialized in CT, MR etc. They probably do CT scan faster, better than an x-ray by now.
