I'm gonna be honest: I cannot begin to care about the evil dragon's sad backstories. They've been established as inhumanly monstrous for so long that no amount of "bloo bloo bloo, look how hard their life was" will change that. My only feelings as each dragon died was regret that they were over so quickly.

I like how they set up Slime's pause here. Slime was already getting close to the corps and that explains why he stopped even before Crimson shouted. The gunner girl recovered from Crimson's arm and then the gun. That's so cool.

You don't need to cry for every character... Not even the author needs this, the characters only serve to convey the themes and messages of the story, and guide us as readers. What is being done here is not a "sad backstory", it is just an explanation of why that character is doing such a thing and thinking in such a way...

This is the most bullshit mid fight power up yet. I wish the dragons actually won and the mangas perspective shifted to theirs because I care so little for the humans compared to them.
