thanks for the translations, happy to see this continue- slight mistake in the end notes- guessing didn't mean to type "buckwheat" in the first bullet point for abura soba? Unless abura soba does typically use buckwheat?

eta- will you be re-translating the SSSS random chapters as well? Just reread the next one and a peeve popped up with some food manga translators who keep doing the "rubadubgrub" instead of anything close to itaidakimasu's original meaning or intent. It sounds really glib and goofy at best. If it is going to be translated instead of leaving it as is, without veering into western religiousness like saying grace, there's got to be a better way of doing it. "Appreciate the meal/Much appreciated" admittedly doesn't sound as smooth like bon appetit, but it does offer acknowledgement and differentiate from saying a simpler "thanks for the meal" for the gochisousama at the end of the meal. 2nd edit- actually saw someone else mention that in the comments for the chapter- glad it's not just me that gets annoyed at it =D

yea I hate that as well. the one who uploaded it wasn't really a serious translator so he probably he thought it was very funny to make such creative liberties. We'll be redoing all the chapters he did.

yay, great to hear! strangely that goofy phrasing has spread to other food mangas that were otherwise well translated (chotto ippai I think was one, I think at least seen it in another 1 or 2 I can't remember)- really never understood how that caught on.

I've edited the afterword to take out the buckwheat, sorry about that, I was writing that part half-asleep. If you'll check the chapter now there'll be a few slight revisions (like how there's a double-page one now).

Yes, by the client's request I'm also going to take on all of the other chapters that were scanlated, they're meant to be treated like they don't even exist.

The way I translate certain phrases tries to walk on the tightrope inbetween those two, I want to make it sound natural while still carrying the original message of what the raws wanted to say. I don't want to westernize it too much lest it looks like another one of those memelations, but I also don't want it to sound too stiff and rigid like the literal translations.

I'm one of those people who gets irritated when a certain visual novel translated the word "onii-chan" as "bro-bro", so if you feel the same way, then we're practically kindred spirits.
