In this thread we share random, funny, helpful or otherwise interesting information about authors and artists which may also be part of their biography.
For example, if you look at artist Ohbata Takeshi's biography you'll find this little paragraph which is kinda funny:
"On September 6, 2006, Obata was arrested for illegal possession of an 8.6 cm knife when he was pulled over in Musashino, Tokyo for driving with his car's headlights off at 12:30am. The artist claimed he kept the knife in his car for when he goes camping."
It's funny because it's just randomly there, oddly specific and doesn't sound like a serious crime but it is in Japan (I think).
You can also simply share some interesting facts about them.
Did you know? It is widely speculated among fans and in the industry that Tsugumi Ohba (which is the pen name of the one who made "Death Note", "Bakuman" and "Platinum End" with Obata) might actually be Gamo Hiroshi, who made "Tottemo! Luckyman".
This is mostly based on similarities in the style of early storyboards of Death Note with Luckyman, some references to Luckyman and Gamo himself in his other series and the very little info we do have about him making sense and lining up if he really is Gamo.
Anybody know about the Death Eraser from an earlier version of Death Note? That was straight out of a gag manga.
He probably used a pen-name so people won't think DN was a gag manga and doesn't share a lot of info. Like it's so hard to get a photo of him (plus I'm lazy but ignore that)
Also don't you think it's kinda interesting that the guy who made a series where knowing the real name and face of a person lets you kill them doesn't show his face much?
There's also a reddit post about his real identity being Kanye West lol.
Criticism and stuff is also allowed but don't be too mean or unfair!
Yeah I couldn't think of a better acronym.
