So this confirms that the gods are powered by the egg crystal things made by the space lady, which then seems to imply that the children that the space lady was talking about were actually the gods and that she is the mother of gods. it also introduces a note of ambiguity to her saying that she "ate her children" since most - though not all - gods have been evil.
Gods are really interesting since they seem very animalistic and less human and even when they want to do good (like Mesher seems to want to do in this chapter) they still end up causing harm. It's almost like they're natural phenomena passing through and just interacting with them is generally fatal to average humans.
Lastly, and this might be seriously overthinking it, but the shiny crosses when the gods say "it's the land of the gods" in this chapter (page 6, panel 2) are identical to shiny crosses meant to represent space lady presumably creating the egg in chapter 205, page 3, panels 3 and 4. it very well could just be meant to represent "shiny, unspoiled town ready for easy pickings by the gods" or it could mean that there's an underlying reason behind their interest, like an ore or metal or something that made them want to attack the town.
