ok, there have been a couple of average ratings improvement posts in the Suggestions sections and it got me thinking about the ratings. Since this is not a suggestion I decided to post it down here. Also I haven't looked closely at the rating system here to much so maybe I am over looking something or not understanding everything. I don't know if there is a threshold on the number of ratings required before the average rating is shown but it seems a little odd. I went to the Manga / Titles page and sorted them by rating. Ok, I didn't expect any 1's or 10's since that meant everyone would have to rate it as such. But wow, out of 33,000 mangas with an average rating displayed there are less the 160 that meet the description average or below. I had been meaning to sort them for awhile just so I could find a 1.+ or a 2.+ just to read it to see how bad it would be. Turns out there aren't any.

At 40 manga per page: page range - rating range

1-148 : Rating 0
149 : Rating 0 - 4.82 : 40 manga
150 : Rating 4.85 - 5.60 : 40 manga
151 - 152 : Rating 5.61 - 6.12 : 80 manga
153 - 171 : Rating 6.12 - 7.01 : 760 manga
172 - 823 : Rating 7.01 - 8.00 : 26080 manga
824 - 983 : Rating 8.00 - 9.05 : 6400 manga
984 - 987 : Rating 9.05 - 9.27 : 125 manga

Total of 39445 titles.
ok, not exact numbers since lower or upper range page could overlap, ignoring 0's, unrated (slightly more then 5920). There are less then 40 that fall below the rating description Average. At most 118 that meet the description Average. A little more then 33360 or 834 pages that meet the description of Good to Masterpiece. Not sure it really means anything but was just interested to see the numbers.

Stats are time wasters but interesting. 7 is the average as expected.

Getting less than 4 is an achievement in of itself
