So, they really messed-up the anime, because in the last episode, Gobuji's-character had already passed away in that episode...
What's more, how they did probably disservice the source, and reading this manga makes me certain that they did botched the anime.
So, we probably won't be getting a sequel for the anime.

P.S. Finally, the perverted character who sexually rapes women, and even killed some female elf women by overdoing it, is now gone. Finally.
