author wants me to care about and respect this character but made her a strong-single-mom-sexy-wine-aunt trope, repulsive, couldn't if i tried.
the only good part of this arc is rie's cute loli noises in the anime but we don't even get that here
ok, it IS cool that the seemingly one-note bad guy gets recontextualized as complex and a former good guy, but WITHOUT redemption and he just stays dead. you don't see that too often in media but it's very true to life, evil people always had some good in them and always had the opportunity to repent but usually don't before death

Yes It's referring to him. Betelgeuse is a red supergiant star, Where Red star comes from.
You can either read the Light Novel (source material) or Anime (more cut content but season 3 is currently out right now)
