Losing items upon death is such a silly mechanic for an mmo. It makes for entertaining stories tho.

@Bighomer I consider this normal. I played Ultima Online, when you died in a PvP, the enemy would just clean your whole belongings from your dead body lol

Damn, I'd never play such a game. Is equipment there hard to come by or cheap? In battle royal games you find stuff for one game only and obviously drop everything upon death, but if you have to grind orpay for the gear it would feel so lousy to lose it from pvp. (BDO is the only mmo I've played, and only a little bit so far.)

@Bighomer :
I played one of those type of mmo.
There is a reason why this mechanic doesn't exist anymore.

Items, equipments and gold were à little hard to get (unless epic and very rare stuff) but you could put your belonging in a bank to protect it if you die (but then you can't use it)

pvp only works in the designated pvp areas (e.g. wilderness, duel arena, etc); but you also lose all your carried items save for 2-3 of them when you die normally

for the most part you can just make your gear again if you're high-levelled enough, or buy it from other players at the grand exchange (unless untradeable).
the economy has tanked since certain updates, so it shouldn't be too expensive compared to 10 years ago.

just bank all your items you don't need atm bro, most people nowadays focus on skilling anyway
