That ring is a bit op, he can travel anywhere and he will always be able to talk with any person he encounter. But taking in account he had to do a long and tedious quest to unlock that hidden function in a ring he already got in another long and dangerous quest it isn't too bad.

I assume he’s stronger than his friend at some point but I’d expect him to get a hit in to share the Exp unless it only happens if you get the killing blow then again there wouldn’t be group quests and guilds/parties if this game was built more for solo hunters
