Reader stops detecting page up/down after changing the image width or randomly when going to the next chapter

Most likely the issue is something related to firefox.

Recently I switched from chrome to firefox and I noticed that sometimes after going to the next chapter or changing the image width with the max width setting the reader won't detect when I press page up or page down in the keyboard. I didn't have this issue on chrome.

Even if I can't use page up/down I can still scroll with my mouse. Reloading fixes the issue but it is a chore to reload every few chapters.

I only use Firefox on Windows , and have not had any particular issues with the page up/down keys. Maybe it's a keyboard focus issue? For example, sometimes I will accidentally hit the tab key and focus jumps to an element on the page that does not respond to arrow keys.

Try clicking on a non-link, non-image portion of the website; eg, click on the page number above the image.

Seems like that fixes the issue but it's still annoying.

Can you go to any chapter>open the sidebar and click "reader settings>image fit>limit max width and change it to whatever value you want then close the modal window and then check if page up/down works?

I had this issue on windows 10 and now on windows 11.

How often do you change the image fit setting for this to be a problem? I don't use this particular setting, but I can't imagine this is a setting I would constantly change.

It may be worth it to make a screen recording of exactly what you're doing. I tried changing the setting and arrow keys work as expected. This is what I did:
  1. Open a title
  2. Scroll to the top and click "Menu <"
  3. Scroll down and click "* Reader Settings"
  4. Click "Image Fit", check "limit max width", set slider to 600pixels
    1. "conatin to width" and "stretch small pages" are already checked
  5. Click X to close the settings modal; scroll to the top and click X to slide away the menu
  6. Tap arrow left/right arrow key to turn the page

I don't change it often, only when I read manhwa/webtoons. I just mentioned it because it's the easiest way to replicate my problem.

For example: I'm reading multiple chapters in a row (chapter 1>chapter 2>chapter 3, etc) page up and page down keys (not arrows) will stop working.

I guess I'll just use this workaround when that happens.

As noted above, I use "contain to width" and "stretch small pages". When I read long strips, I just make the browser window narrower. On windows, I use Powertoys + Fancy Zones. Fancy Zones moves windows to a preset location and dimension. When reading long strips, I tap window+right arrow to move and resize the browser window to make reading easier. When I'm finished, window+left arrow to bring the browser back to the my "default" size and location.
