It's a bit hard to really appreciate the development if we don't know ourselves some of the basic mechanisms of the game - like the elements' compatibility indeed, or even just the lvl limits if there are any (it's so rare to see +100lvl players in an mmo), the general map (so we'd get what's up with the dad talking about going vacationing to Pangea with a lvl 6 character?). Anyway just my opinion...

Also it's hard to imagine that no one else would have spend time reading some books and realized how many useful side quests were to be found on them, but oh well ^^"

Thanks for the translation!

Thanks for the translation, but... I don't know it's somehow confusing? Disconnected? I can't really put my finger on it but it just doesn't seem to click. The translation makes it feel like he's talking in third person (or almost like an observation?) to himself a lot, or at least that's the feeling i get when the mc speaks and thinks...
A lot of things and mechanics aren't explained so choices and things the mc makes don't make sense for the readers a lot of the time...
Just I don't know, this whole thing is somehow off-putting for me.

@AlphaFlow huh? The MC talks about himself in the first person though? The story is a bit off because we lack info, but the translation doesn't seem weird to me about the way he thinks/talk about himself... What kind of sentences are you refering to for ex?

@Georg-Prime @AlphaFlow Yep the author is not great as a writer, he don't put a lot of info in the novel and just explains what he wants the way he wants and when he wants. The world building is almost null and the flow is strange as well. We just got to know what element fire is good against when the MC chooses the said element.

@Georg-Prime : for the book thingy (why other didn't do that). The game just released, so most players focused on leveling up instead of reading book, it's even more understandable when the access to the first library cost so much. I suppose books and library access cost a lots, MC has a special access to one big library thanks to his stats and his mage connection (which seems like the easiest way to get books, but it still very hard because it ask for being a mage and training for your spells).

Furthermore, reading book is less effective once you level up, so even if they give quests and skills maybe level-upping and going around the world gives more opportunities. And because of how book quest seems to works (first come first served) it must be assle to search for them (even more when you don't know the requirement for them).

Lastly, we met someone (or two different people? Doesn't remember it well) who herself got out of her way to read book for testing and found that book rewarded stats and quests. But she didn't found the stat reward interesting (because she was already high level) and she only found one quest in the first town's library.

And for the author not building the world before announcing things (like elements combination or good spot to pass it's vacancies) I find it refreshing because it allow the story's pace to be faster.

no one in development would ever spend this much time. tbh, cast role could be different and like, have they been wearing the same stuff since they appeared?

@Clad95150 is it really that recently released? If there are players who's level reached the +300, while OP MC has a hard time getting to 'just' 100, how long as they really been playing? And even then, ntil now we mainly had players who're interested in lvl-uping and this one dude who read books for the act of reading itself no matter the content, but I garanty you as a jrpg fan myself, that there would be people who'd be more interested in role playing and in the lore of the game. And I would be talking to every NPCs - several times, just in case they change what they say if any event happens - and visiting every public place and every house in a town before I would think of changing zone/town. It's impossible that no one wouldn't have gathered a mere 50 gold the first day to access the first library, and wouldn't have been reading to know more about the characters and History of Pangea.

So yeah thanks @Shakur, it seems like that's what's going on, original author just doesn't really put that much thoughts into this, and well it's fine, the whole point of this story is the joke that there is this dude who's gonna become a super legendary player, and all he really wants is reading books in peace. It's okay it's funny, I just can't help being curious as a player lol.

@Georg-Prime Yeah it's kind of new. And MC is OP but his level progression is halved because of his quest/class. And he lost lot of time while reading an entire library.

And seeing how much this world is, if you talk to every NPC, visit any place and every town it'll take a lot of time before you hit the library.
it's not impossible to rush the library, at least two people did this, but only the mc did it while being heavily under-leveled (using quests that didn't give lots of XP) and doing only that.

Surely some people want to read all the books, but because of all the different things you can do in the game, the mc is very very likely be the first to do that. Because he purposely chooses an inefficient way of playing focused solely on books.

And it's normal to see mainly people who're interested in lvl-uping :
- The huge majority of people are interested in lvl-uping, because it's the core gameplay and because even story-driven players know that having an HL character help to unlock stories faster and easier.
- The rare people who don't care about level-upping are still in the first town, and very unlikely at the library.
- So the MC meet near nobody in the first town because he was at the library (he meet one person inside the library, surely more but they weren't important enough encounter to show them)
- And after the library, MC is OP and hunt in mid to high-level hunting ground, which means the only people he can meet are people who are mid to high level, which are people who cared about level upping.
- People who are focused on reading don't talk much which means it's not a meaningful interaction and doesn't need to be shown.

I am this kind of player who read all the books, talks to every NPC, listen to all the music and do all the quest in a town before moving to the next one (less now) and what I noticed was that people who focused on only one task was far more advanced than me in it. So yeah... a library full of books? I would surely read something like ten of them at a time while doing other things (because books don't give much once you level-upped) I will read all of them in the end, but someone who ONLY does that will read all the book far before me. And in your case (and near every players case), I'm sure it'll be the same.
