I've spent a lot of time researching history the last few years. What I've learned from the Spiritual teachings of people much smarter/kinder than me, is more or less this: we all come from light/dark merging into each other. Binary Code, 0/1, is functional, because the entire Universe comes from a series of Light/Dark, Positive/Negative, On/Off, Yes/No. Basically, this means that everything in the world is Fractal, and comes from a single point of light infinitely multiplying through division into the darkness. It is the unity of the opposing forces, that creates life.
This fits cellular life, as cells divide to multiply. So, the origination of life, to me, is a single point of light, expanding infinitely, multiplying through division; we can call this Source, God, it's had many names. The Dark/Light dichotomy is found in Yin/Yang, many other spiritual practices. So, the Universe itself is more or less a living hologram; an infinite game, with infinite possibilities. A choose your own adventure game.
Once I realized this, it changed how I view series like this. Are these two fictional characters, I've been reading about? Or, are these two very real individuals, who came together to make a new family, from a world far away, but very close to ours? This is the multiverse theory, more or less; any world with sufficient fundamental structure, can exist. In a world where so many cults push absolute nonsense, I thank gaming/science for making me realize something: just because we can't directly "see" another place, it doesn't mean that place isn't real. Much of our bodies are made up of bacteria we cannot directly see without using scientific apparatus. If this silly theory is correct, and Kaoru and Nanami do exist out there, I wish them the absolute best, as well as the best to the fantastic translators, and readers of this series.
