That's no reason to run. We're both suspended
is it more about the story or work quality? It's a shame I can't rate this any lower. It feels like for a long while, every time I've come back to check in/catch up on this, I try to lower my rating, but it's already at 1 star every time. At this point, I'm hate reading it out of sunk cost fallacy~![]()
DEFINITELY the story; I wouldn't ever lower my rating of a series over scanlation quality.is it more about the story or work quality?
Getting caught drinking underage publicly should get you suspended for a few days to a week max. Getting caught underage drinking in your own home by one of your relatives should generally not involve the school. If the parents of your underage drinking partners raise a fuss about it, then perhaps it can also lead to a similar suspension and probably a probationary period when you're back in school. AFAIK, we haven't seen anything that implies that said parents did, but please correct me if I just glossed it over. The measures we are seeing are far beyond what would normally be called for.i see alot of comments about how drinking alcohol isnt that bad... IF they had sex... ok (we dont even know if they really had... could be proven by doctors i think...) but drinking underaged i can see that as a reason for supension... but not for expulsion... i bet it was the kouhai... but the real "mastermind" either the girl or that guy from the fastival...
With all that being said, Seiichi's cousin is one of the school's top staff. They might be worrying about PR and what people might think of their school after the word gets out somehow. The school might have wanted to disassociate themselves with the potential underage "relations" and underage drinking. But then again, the term "退学" (たいがく) doesn't inherently imply "expulsion", it could be something like "[mandatory] suspension," or literally, "leaving school," at least according to the dictionary I use. But, serious actions come with serious words, so I chose the word "expulsion."Getting caught drinking underage publicly should get you suspended for a few days to a week max. There are schools in JP that demand that students not engage in illicit relationships with each other under the threat of disciplinary action, and would react very negatively to this whole situation, leading to a similar response. Those are usually prestigious and disciplinarian private academies, not somewhere you would find Cotton or Ibu attending.![]()
Thing is (and it's something I've been memeing on it since the whole bs started), the one who found them is his cousin teacher....Getting caught drinking underage publicly should get you suspended for a few days to a week max. in this case, iirc they didn't choose to drink alcohol, someone swapped their drinks with it or smt like that. there's def the problem of "if someone can just spike your drink and in turn you get in trouble for that" (in their own home especially), then that makes this situation even worse narratively since apparently none of that was even considered, especially since the one who was gonna report this was a relative.Getting caught drinking underage publicly should get you suspended for a few days to a week max. I don't fully blame the cousin, she's a teacher who technically would've had to say something instead of risking it with someone else leaking the info and then it being found out that didn't report it. iirc she's doing stuff in the background trying to fix the situation (since they didn't go and buy alcohol, someone swapped their drinks, she has to know... right?), and that's where it's all falling apart for me. especially since it's not just protag and FMC, but also a third party that messes with things.Thing is (and it's something I've been memeing on it since the whole bs started), the one who found them is his cousin teacher....
His cousin.....his own FAMILY
The cousin that so wanted him to have a happy youth with friends directly threw him (and the girl/"s") under the bus instead of trying to understand what the hell happened....y'know, like a normal family member would do?
This is what wasted the whole story. Because, we read weird romance mangas all the time, so the weird guy that find solace in eroges because he got his feelings toyed with as a kid and now god forbids if a real girl has feelings for him....y'know, we can even accept that.....
But the amount of bs this author has put out just to create a bit of drama (ohhhh, and they love drama it seems) is mind boggling.
9 years of a somewhat nice romance manga and we end up on a final or second to last arc like this...
