of all the people he could choose to pick a fight with, he chooses one of the demon lords??? like, sure, Astaroth is pretty soft for a demon lord, but come on. i can practically heard the 🎶dumb~ ways to die~🎶 jingle from here

This feels like a 'Break the MC's denseness toward love interest' arc but may go sideways because Eve is not to be trifiled with. Even Robin and Marion are chipping away with hammers mentally.

Would be funny to see Eve have a certified crashout on Astraroth and thats the real threat.

the demon lord itself already defeat 2/3 demon lord (i forgot).

isn't this side char just to be made cocky and oblivious to be just aura farmed? kekw
i bet the one will be known is mifune, the "robin" incident again. and i bet it is related to that masked man who know toshizou

ngl i was kinda hoping it'd be the adventurer's guild, just because that's so completely illogical it'd be fascinating to see what kind of world-building they'd need to pull to justify it. basically from the instant they offered the 2 options it was like "yeah, no shit it's the merchants, it's gonna be some fat evil bastard angry that his 37th income source is getting impinged on & once we meet him he's gonna be shown to be functionally braindead (if that wasn't already obvious by the fact he's a businessman willfully making an enemy of what is essentially the king of his own nation, someone who is new but strong and most well known for outsmarting everyone who comes at him and thus a way better ally than enemy lol)
and lo and behold, it's even more cookie-cutter than i even expected, adding in "lustful blob of a man who hits on a woman (the main heroine, naturally, but that's the one bit of knowledge it makes sense for a character in-world not to really "get" i suppose), is almost killed instantly by her as a result, & thinks he has literally any hope in hell of doing anything to her so he set up a 'plan' that's more of a rube goldberg machine designed to fit a noose around his own throat." at this point i genuinely wonder if there's some sort of mind-control magic tool involved or whatever to create drama, just because that's so predictable & predictability seems to be the author's MO at the moment lol

kotarou at the corner
gotcha bitch
Yeah, If Kotarou doesn't behead him on the first page of next chapter, then I'd expect the Hanzo squad to report his words to Astaroth. And then he dies. Dead horse plot resolved.

There were some pretty stupid deductions.
A clean cut has to be from a katana of course...
Also the mage guild could just have hired a swordsman, it's stupid to exclude them from the suspects just because no magic was used.
And if they had their leads (the guilds) and a description of the culprit from the servants of the estate, why did they bother to waste money on the beggars that didn't even add new info?

Even in democratic countries people can be detained for some time, when they're suspected of doing a crime. And what does the ruler of the authoritarian meritocratic state do, when it was made almost certain, that the main culprit was sitting right before him? Absolutely nothing :facepalm::facepalm:

Since he hasn't reigned for long he likely does not have such a system setup, and even then he has not stabilized his authority to a point where the guilds could not use his actions to create a narrative of abuse of power which could be used to direct the positions of others which are not well informed. Which could increase his enemies. When he has clear evidence of their wrong doing he can publicly announce it to reduce the effect of any rumors. Anyone without much knowledge of the situation or the MC would likely hold a neutral position as it would be a he said blob said to them.

yeah, i didn't question why MC isn't abusing his gods-given rights as a demon lord because the "realist" schtick is obviously the more core part of his character- bro's obviously gonna make 100% certain (basically already has) and then also collect irrefutable proof etc, make sure any action he takes will not just not backfire on him (preventing other merchants etc not grabbing the chance to try to gain leverage due to a seemingly "unfair"/"hostile"/"rash" action on his part) but also yield as much profit as possible (whether that's just making fat fuck yield all his assets or finding evidence to quash other similar potential sources of difficulty and make sure nobody else can try similar shit remains to be seen, but i'd wager it's more toward the latter in the end)
doesn't make the entire premise any less paint-by-numbers though, this is immediately bog-standard to a degree most other bogs seem interesting by comparison :V

Sometimes this manga's worldbuilding confuses me.
Maybe I am wrong but our mc was born in a ruined cave near a ruined castle and ruined small city, through plot and what not he rebuilds it in what most likely is equal to a earldom in human terms when it comes to economy or military power... with the addon he's a demon king, even if the title is more equal to human nobility than the usual fantasy demon king....

Enter this fat fuck in scene, he settles in the territory of our mc since he does not micromanage everything and things develop naturally... and he just thinks he can take the lord of the territory he resides in for a fool, to his face, A DEMON on top of that? The adventurer's guild guildmaster made sense to me, he is a powerful "public" servant meeting his liege in a way (not really but I hope it makes sense) and it shows it in his behaviour, but the fat fuck just does not make sense to me, sometimes demon lords feel like absolute menaces and respected and then sometimes they feel like a rural baron no one takes seriously.

Which is it??? Am I too stupid to understand the worldbuilding here? :qq:

I hope we at least get the denseness out of our mc from this filler arc.
