I've a feeling Alicia is getting weaker/thinner because she's not getting fed. Also, Hannibal boasting about taking Rome. Things have changed in warfare since then, old man! Allow me to introduce you to aerial superiority. :02:

He would adapt to it, there are ants that can fly or have wings.

If there was an ancient times general that would scare me is Hannibal, Astaroth is lucky that Hannibal is practically asking for his help, and this time he asked help to the right person (or organization) lol.

Aerial superiority doesn't mean anything for an underground army

IDK, a few well placed bunker busters can do quite the number on an underground army and their tunnels.

If the main combat front was also underground, then yeah, aerial units would have no significant advantage, and may even be at a disadvantage depending on the situation. But this isn't the case here. The main combat front is currently on the surface.

The Ants are (currently) invading, not defending. So they have to exit the underground, putting them at a disadvantage towards aerial units. I imagine this doesn't last too long though since it wouldn't go well for the series if their MC died or all of MC's people died). The fighting would then begin to push back underground once the MC starts to win the war of attrition. THEN they would lose aerial advantage, and would have to use their ground forces almost exclusively.

However, this isn't necessarily bad for MC. His army is, at minimum, assisted by dwarves who probably know a good deal of subterranean fighting tactics. Plus, ants are notoriously weak to molten metal being poured into their colony.

This :this:
How is the queen birthing an endless army when she doesn't have a slug for a butt?
I guess it depends on relative size. For all we know, she may be quite large in humanoid form? Or maybe her eggs are still normal ant sized and she can lay them in bulk?

Or magic just says she can and we have no choice but to accept it at face value.

Wait a second. If the queen only has less than 80 daughters, then who's army of ants are currently out there doing the fighting? Shouldn't they also be her daughters, as almost all ants are (they do birth males, but substantially less than they do females)? Or does the Queen have a distinction between the normal rank and file ants and any potential future Queens?

Just need bombs. Why do you think big cities have alarms in case of aerial attacks? Underground doesn't mean shit when their tunnels can collapse on them. I'm also amused he doesn't just flood the tunnels with magic.

There's a limit to how far underground the damages from bombardment can reach. It would be one thing if it's only a few meters or dozen meters deep like the subway, but we're talking about a human sized ants here. It wouldn't be weird if the tunnels are hundreds if not kilometers deep before surfacing below each attacked cities

And another problem for MC currently are that the battles are happening in his city and the ants are exiting the underground from people's basement. Aerial superiority wouldn't help much without a lot of collateral damages to his own city, which he probably doesn't want.
