So they're hard on the kid because he's a bit cautious, but that dodge was pretty deft, and the axe throw was quite accurate - I feel like anyone reasonable would've noticed some of his skills at least

Instead of displaying the MC's intelligence with stuff like cleverly laid-out plans, it feels like the author just kinda dumbs down everyone else around him lol - unless they redeem the kid's party later of course
