Dude just kidnapped a drunken lady, robbed her probably priceless (on Earth) treasure, and acted as if he had done a good deed and she should be thankful. If I know my xianxia, the story will later make that girl a scumbag so that retroactively the MC's highway robbery will be justified. After all, "xia" in xianxia stands for a hero (a righteous person). Of course there's the 5% chance the girl needs saving later, and that way he will actually be able to squeeze even more benefits out of her.
I sometimes wish the xianxia MCs suffered some setbacks as a way of karma, but typically they never do. They never lose anything that really matters, unless it was the very beginning setting of the story (since revenge is such a common theme in xianxia). Sure, they experience hardships, but more often than not it just makes them stronger and grants them new opportunities.
