@TheFiller How is that making fun of him? If his affection for [the other girl] is obvious, she may have been intending it as a favor to him. Or, as a favor to herself, if she has affection towards him and wanted to make him realize the shortcomings of the other girl. Either approach is certainly lacking, but neither one would be based in mockery, derision, contempt, et al.
That said, had he phrased it as "treat me with respect", you may have had a point, depending on what her actual motivations were, since it's hard to consider an approach which isn't openly revealed at the start as being respectful. So it's really just a nuance of perspective, based off the phrasing used.
Besides, as far as I'm aware it wasn't clarified that she determined the selection of the bet, either. She could have done something as simple as "accept a relationship with the next boy who asks". And even that condition could have been initiated by the other girl, instead, depending on who pushed the bet in the first place.
Basically, it's too early to not give her some benefit of the doubt, especially if her conduct towards him is otherwise respectful enough to make up for a single faulty decision.
That all said, maybe he just meant his acknowledgement of her to be in contrast to all the awful behavior of the other students, rather than actually being a compliment persay.
