Recommendations please! [Nana to Kaoru] has left a void in me and i need help, romantic with mc's with depth please

Dear Users, please help me fix myself cos i went and opened pandoras box and now it feels like my heart is in pieces on the floor, i need something that is romantic, has protagonists with depth and ideally a happy ending cos my heart can not take another kicking right now (suffice to say anything ntr or cheating will destroy me right now). I know its a tall order but please if you can...

it is with a heavy heart i admit to you all that despite reading manga for the better part of 20 years i had never encountered Nana to Kaoru before two weeks ago, SM is not content i usualy consume, but i gave it a go and by god it hooked me, im not going to get into the 'blip' in certain arcs from the original and 'last year' but they may be the cause of my unrest.
The level of character introspect and realism really drew me in and i dont want to beseech anyones fave but there is a rash of plain, featureless and boring protaganists not to mention half the time romance exists because the setting demands it rather than any grounded reasoning. You all know what i am talking about and we all know this is for consumers to self insert ourselves, but after nana to kaoru its too difficult to force myself to read... i need characters not cut-outs and a reason for love more than just because thats what the story demands
i need help, i need to rid myself of this void, something to cleanse my palate and distract myself long enough to piece myself back together, it been a week since i finished it and its 2 sequels/spin-offs and my goddamn heart has been beating like a drum since, its so bad its messing with my sleep 😭😭😭

Oh yeah, I get what you mean. I've encountered Nana to Kaoru a loooong time ago tho. (Somewhere before chapter that introduced Tachi was released I think.) And yeah, it does hit somewhat different from other stuff I've read, even if you leave sm theme aside. The bonding between characters has this special feel.

This post made me overthink a bit and now I'm not even sure what a "mc with depth" is. Maybe stuff I read is just shallow, but finding good stuff is hard, go figure.

Its a little shameless to say but the SM theme makes this one a slightly shameful one to bring up with people in r/l. I will be checking out all of your suggestions.

@Ferreas i think you hit the nail on the head better than i could word it, the bond feels special in NtK and i guess thats what i was grasping at when asking for depth, hard concept to word but this series has hit different to any other that i can recall, Thank you for your kind understanding and recomendations.

Well i just finished Insomniacs after school and that helps my heart a bit... though i must apologise after chapter 20-30 i had the sneaking suspicion that i had been monkey pawed. Its left me feeling a little vulnerable but i enjoyed it.

Im so glad she lived, i had the sinking feeling that she was gonna die and it was going to be one of those bittersweet 'my final year' love stories >.< If you ever seen the movie 'A Walk to Remember' 2002, something akin to that.... and that movie made me cry so much i had to go to sleep to stop it (twice!!)

I just found a good spot to read Ase to Sekken and i am absolutely loving that, it started off a little quicker than i would have expected but im on chapter 30 now and its a blast, i wish more mangas could handle this kind of 'after the confession' relationship

If you want to hurt yourself more where the scar is left, you can try to read Sundome you might cry buckets tho.
Also don't forget to check Hideki Arai's works if you want to dive deeper in depressing shit with (a lot of characters') depth.

God, I never had the strength to finish Nana to Kaoru. It felt like constant NTR bait, and my heart couldn't handle the strain.
