Many, many years ago, when Persia came ashore
Heeding Leonidas' call, the Spartans went to war
Joined by their brothers
A few against the fateful horde
Hellenic hearts are set aflame
The hot gate calls their name
A final stand
Stop the Persians, spear in hand
Form a wall
Live to fall, and live forever
Sparta! Hellas!
Then, and again, sing of three hundred men!
Slaughter! Persians!
Glory and death, Spartans will never surrender!
Morning has broken
Today they're fighting in the shade
When arrows blocked the sun, they fell
Tonight they dine in Hell
By traitor's hand
Secret passage to their land
Know his name
Know his shame will last forever
Sparta! Hellas!
Then, and again, sing of three hundred men!
Slaughter! Persians!
Glory and death, Spartans will never surrender!

It does make sense know the expression of the Spartans on Apollo careless remarks. They are beyond pissed, this god do not see humanity more than an ants. By the clause of his oracle, pacifism is only can be achieved when both sides wants to communicate to begin with, which King Xerxes are not keen to.

It is creativity against creativity as Leonidas are not only a good leader, he also knows how to use tactics.

There are sayings that goes like this

“Country that separate their smart and strong will left their thinking by cowards and fighting by fools”

Is it just me or the more the battles continue the more weird and/or complicated the weapons become? Like, in the beginning there was a spear, knuckledusters, a sword, then gloves and a sumo belt, then whatever the fuck Buddha had, Qin Shi Huang's armor, Nikola Tesla's armor (again) and now a shield with blades attached to a chain

No complaints about this one, it's pretty good. Apollo is appropriately smug and faaabulous as a Greek God should be.
Well the spinny shield is a little silly.

Buddha is a god and therefore gets a divine weapon by default, and Tesla was an inventor so his custom armor made sense, but Leonitos's Frisbee of Chaos is literally just the author using Kratos as a reference. If they wanted to be accurate it would be sword/spear and shield combined with Pankration.

Also it wasn't a sumo belt, Raiden was given a Valkyrie-reinforced skeleton to allow him to fight at full strength without his own muscles crippling him.

pretty funny that even the older spartan advisors (or whatever they're meant to be) are still incredibly muscular
Yes cause all of them are retired spartan warrior.

People in the senate are just retired soldiers probably why they had bad managment and got taken over by greedy corporate later on

Well, their shield is their symbol when they go to war, it's said that when they see the shield it strikes fear on their enemies

It's probably because the Valkyrie can't change into two different things, sasaki kojiro is the exception because the Valkyrie has two personalities

Before Kratos, there was another.

Why would Spartans worship a self proclaimed pacifist god though.
Apollo seems to own the most influential oracle business in ancient Greece.

Sparta's patron god is actually Athena iinm

there’s something I didn’t really get. Did the Spartans defeat the Persians here? Because historically, Leonidas was defeated and killed by the Persian army within three days. However, considering the army sizes are also not historically accurate (it’s in reality 7000 vs 50.000), they might’ve changed it
