One of the few long running murim mangas that isn't slop. It's actually fine but not profound

So I finally read the spoilers. Turns out everything that happened until now is just the first part of the story. Explains a lot of the pacing and tone of everything. It’s very unlikely for me to finish reading this in my lifetime. Namu wiki says this is technically an unfinished story, the novel I mean. fml

God this is boring. I don't mind long sagas, but 50+ chapters in the protagonist was still so passive it was annoying. The early chapters spend all this time waffling about how he's gonna change Murim and yada yada unforseen waves but he doesn't do jack shit oh my god. He sends some letters completely anonymously, so... now what? Nothing? The Murong family just never finds him or anything; at least one of the swordsmen he writes to never reappears?

Like, in terms of the hero's journey, he's been at "Refuses the Call" like seven times. He does nothing but maybe swing his empty hand for sword training and then a bunch of people go "omg he has so much power... we have to get rid of him" / "omg his potential... we have to snatch him" / "omg his swordsmanship insight... we have to find him". He's been in one serious duel! Like ever! All he does is linger around doing admin work and then comments and then continues to do nothing! For the love of God I'm bored!!!!!!!!!!
