It fell apart. In the beginning, it seemed deliberately stupid and exaggerated, with ridiculous but funny situations and idiotic characters. But the writing failed to sustain the comic chaos and tension, so there'd be these dull, draggy stretches. After a while, it became clear that that Murata Kouji was in some sense writing this moronic drivel in earnest, and expecting us to do the same as readers. At which point it became a drag, like a Yamaguchi Mikoto manga.
