Register Mangadex with Brave to allow Brave users to contribute to the site :rejected:

brave is a decent browser that respects privacy and, if users opt-in, they can be shown ads to earn a cryptocurrency "BAT" for their time viewing those ads on the site. users can also opt-in to contribute their BAT toward websites of their choosing. i'm not sure how you register, it's either brave.com /refer or /creators. i don't know how viable it is, but it's entirely optional and only affects brave users if they want it.

TLDR my suggestion is registering mangadex with brave so you can let brave users contribute to the site if they want to.

Cryptocurrency is something we want to steer clear of. Too much bad publicity surrounding it in general.

People can already donate to the site by the methods we support. If someone can't afford to donate - or does not have access to the methods we support - then it's okay. There's more than one way to show support for the site.

You can also help us out by sharing links, reporting bad sites to Google (see May 12th announcement), liking our stuff on social media and spreading the word to friends!

Brave Ads are enabled by default in Brave Rewards, providing the ability to earn Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) every time you view an ad.

Yeah but it doesn't mean that everyone is forced to view ad. We are only asking mangadex to verify so that we can support the website with (BAT) we accumulated over time using brave browser.
If you don't like it then don't use brave browser. The ad is built in the browser itself and you can even choose how much ad you like to see.

+1 for Brave or another crypto with a focus on day to day use like BCH (BTC has higher transaction fees during increased usage).

Lots of politics in crypto so it's understandable to want to avoid, but Brave is designed to be dead easy, all MD would have to do is sign up and verify the account (no promotion or anything required), all the processing is done in the background. All MD would have to do is withdraw it whenever it is convenient. As a estimate, it's roughly 1cent an ad and max of 5/hour, which can add up quickly. Compare to the fractions of a cent ad systems usually give. Something to think about.
