Wow, this is... really specific. I didn't even know disordered eating could be a sexual fetish.
Equal parts cute and upsetting, maybe.

I watch VTubers myself, so I always feel kinda cringe reading stories about them :korone:

You'll be shocked to find out the other translation is far more accurate (although the editing is terrible).
Check the raws.
Translating a meme from NicoTV literally doesn't accurately translate the meaning.

It isn't but nice rage bait. Translating a meme from NicoTV literally doesn't accurately translate the meaning.
Right in page 1, she's talking down to her audience (in character, as a demon) about how lowly humans get corrupted because they only eat that kind of food. Sciencey translated it as the girl talking about herself getting addicted. The most basic mistake in translation is the misinterpretation of the subject of a sentence, and it's right there in the first page of the manga.

But don't take my word for it, you can check it yourself and compare the raws with this translation.

If you think attempting to translate words 1:1 in the most literal way is appropriate, you just aren't qualified to comment.

Do you really think changing the subject of a statement from "ざこざこ人間" to "myself" is appropriate? Because if you do so, you're the one not qualified to comment.

For anyone else who cares, the vtuber character is a cheeky demon who makes fun of humans. The very first page of the manga is trying to portray this, by showing how she's still trying to insult humans even when she's the one getting corrupted by food. Sciencey's translation completely removed that aspect of her character from her introduction by incorrectly interpreting the original text as if the girl was talking about herself.

You're completely misunderstanding what he's saying. This "translation" goes way past taking a few liberties and puts stuff that is completely different from the raws. The issue is not taking liberties, it's that it's completely wrong at times.

Breaking down the sentence in question:
こんなんばっか食べてるからざこざこ人間は堕落すりゅの

Roughly each individual segment:
こんなん "stuff like this"
ばっか "only"
食べてる "eat"
から "because"
ざこざこ人間は "weak/pathetic humans"
堕落すりゅの "become depraved"

If I'd keep it on the literal side, I'd turn it into something like:
Because [you] keep eating stuff like this, weak humans become depraved.

You can easily play around with it more taking context clues and tone into account to emulate the bratty style she talks in to make something like:
This is why you pathetic little humans turn into degenerates, cause you keep eating slop like this!

I'm genuinely baffled how someone managed to read that sentence and turn it into "If this food keeps filling me up like this, I'm going to get addicted to feeling it in my stomach" because pretty much the only word in this sentence that is correct is food.

Just because a scanlation looks more polished doesn't mean that it's actually better, it just looks nicer. Especially considering the cocky attitude sciency had in the comments other version, I'm surprised this version isn't actually that much better.
