I have read a lot of manga and watched some dramas, which depicted Oda Nobunaga always in a good light (mostly shoujo/josei).
Reiri is actually the first for me that makes him a villain.
"Gou - Hime-tachi no Sengoku" for example, is about the the youngest of 3 nieces of Oda Nobunaga (Gou/Oeyo), she marries the youngest son of Tokugawa Ieyasu. She really loved her uncle, and he was always shown as a confident, a bit crazy but nice uncle.
The oldest sister(Cha-Cha) married Toyotomi Hideyoshi (the one who betrays Oda Nobunaga in the end and looks like a monkey).
Gou hated him because of this, so he was seen as an villain there

In other manga Nobunaga too, is shown as an heroic nice man who pitifully died too early. In some he was depicted as a bit crazy, but always in a good way, like a reformer who had new ideas...

It is really interesting to see him now as a crazy "villain"

Hideyoshi didn't betray Nobunaga. Mitsuhide did, killing (forcing into suicide) Nobunaga and his heir, Nobutada. That lead to a succession crisis within the Odas, and basically everyone trying to manipulate things to their advantage, but can't really say that anyone else outright betrayed Nobunaga.

Anyway, regarding this chapter: yeah, it's nice character development, but also ... the manga kinda loses it's edge with it? I don't know. Maybe it would have started to become implausible if she survived again and again while going on about wanting to die, but I'm not sure about this new direction either.
