Dropping new levels of backstory on us while the original backstory hasn't had its own completion is just wild.
The OG one is basically done with just some minor things with jurota. We even had a big confrontation with the evil sister and saw her turned to stone and buried. That basically confirmed Dara is now completely free and has fully become her own person.

We know what, why and how Dara is what she is and we know her motives and history. There really isnt that much left tbh. We also now have learned how she is turning into a true mountain god thanks to the kids and their meddling. What else is there left?

Much like Dara, I bet og yamatagi will end up changing and purified until he actually becomes the white snake he has disguised himself as. All thanks to a bunch of kids being nosy and having fun meanwhile Dara barely even notices until its too late and he's basically just a grumpy guardian

I mean, it's not like going from where we left leaves much more than saying how the dude ended up dying.

We left on the implications that after a few years each of his "family" ended up making a business or important labour for the village, and now they are mostly integrated into it in inconspicuous ways, and that Dara-san was in the middle of the "lost herself to the snake for a few years" phase, which we know lasts for a while before the modern day, and ends a decent amount of years before the twin's mother becomes devoted to her (since she can recognize the grandfather, at least).

So the only thing that doesn't have a clear way of being extrapolated really is his death, and if it was significant in any way.

Personally, I would like to see a showcase of how things changed over the years up to the present. We know that Hinata & Karou's mother had some kind of connection with Dara before having them.

We actually got a chapter focusing on the mom and Dara, but it was quite a while back.

Kinda nice that he also dealt with the scammoner as well. He did do a lot of damaged after messing around with those curses that will fade away with time.

So we're going with snek's lore next which is fine, what the clans are doing after their creation basically flavor text at this point so next point of history of Darasan to explore is after her blank memory, basically the time after she had gone feral due to the massacre incident. Pretty sure it's going to take some time before we get there so we might get some more Snek action for awhile.

Sadly snek, you going to have a hard time setting up your shrine of dreams in a place where the kids made it possible for Darasan to bother traveling around the town. I mean she is still bound to the mountain so she can't leave the town but it's also the same for you thou, can't grow your influence and power outside the mountain as well.

What are letter pack lights?

Hopefully sorcerer man repents of his deeds and ends his punishment eventually.
Super interesting that Yasaka was not a name Madara made up on the spot. He was actually called that in the past.
Where did they reveal this?

Man, I know the past section had some brutal thing, but I think this is the worst to have happened to people in the present? I mean absolutely deserved though. Don't think anyone would mourn them.

So Yasaka is not actually just a random name he pulled out of nowhere. Can already tell what will happen to that girl with the scar for it to eventually become yamatagi madara. Oh boy guess we're in for another ride.

This is a japan mail.
Where did they reveal this?
When he flashbacked to a girl that already called him Yasaka.

Now Amane can see Yasaka in all his glory!!!... And ordered him not to watch her poop. Why do I see this situation turning out similar to Dara-san where Amane will be calling the shots and Yasaka will be cleaning up after her? 😆

So he has his own backstory. At this point it feels like the only figure in the greater narrative who was truly evil was the elder priestess (and the parents too I guess).
Yeah, I was just gonna say that it seems like Mr. Snek is one of those "good guys who try to act like tough bad guys but are actually FRIENDS OF JUSTICE" comic tropes.

I really love this world that the author has created. Even though there may be horrifying consequences at times, that they only happen to those deserving and that the innocent are protected makes it all feel like a just and kind world.

I mean, not quite. You could argue the streamer from early in the story was poking a bear, but the fact remains that she was just foolish and not actively malicious. I don't think she really deserved her fate.
