The first detail, yeah that's a significant deviation from the novel.
The second one though, here's how the novel described it:
Just when Roland squatted down to install the base for the new steam engine, three figures suddenly emerged out of thin air. They landed, staggering, in front of his feet and took him with them when they fell to the ground.
Anna was so scared that she immediately jumped back and set up a wall of green flames to try to block the strangers.
The manhua pretty much recreates those words verbatim.
As for the third detail, yeah it's very strange that they had Nightingale go into her backstory here with Lightning, when in the novel she only goes into her backstory with Roland. I imagine they didn't want to show everything that happened in the trip as described in the novel for the sake of brevity, but they are reordering things a bit here, and I'm not sure I like it.
