@GoldGame Ye after giving it some thought based off what people who read the LN were telling me earlier, I realized there is a lot of emotional scars and baggage that comes with the idea that witches are evil which I unfortunately overlooked. Even if they had the opportunity to use it in secret, their powers are stereotyped as evil so they wouldn't want to use a evil power. They and society were manipulated heavily by various factors and that is just only one of the many reasons why they wouldn't be able to practice their powers. Which I can accept as a valid reasoning, it just bothered me that initially to me it came across as something to make the MC look better. Which we don't need since MC is already pretty good and it can make a story look worse to have so many plot convenience. But now that I understand better it does make more sense.
