As far as I understand, after the events of 14 Sai no Koi, Shiki has fallen for Haijima, and Haijima is repressing her feelings for Shiki. Haijima noticed that Tachibana was interested in Shiki, so in order to distance herself from Shiki, she manipulated events to make Shiki and Tachibana become friends, or maybe even a couple.

On the other hand, Tachibana is developing some rather obsessive/dependent feelings for Shiki (hence the title of this series), which seem to stem from her implicit but unconscious understanding that while she's attracted to Shiki, she's just a third wheel in the relationship between Tachibana and Shiki. Meanwhile, Shiki doesn't seem to perceive Tachibana's feelings for her since she's so focused on Haijima.

I don't think Haijima has any feelings for Shiki.

She had a one sided crush on Hinohara for years. I don't think she'll switch to Shiki. I think Shiki mostly pisses her off because she sees herself when she was younger. The expressions Haijima shows toward Shiki are contempt more than anything else.

Holy shit, sensei is NOT the dangerous person. It's SHIKI. She is the one who tries to keep getting closer while sensei is pushing her to other people to crush on instead of her.
