Oh my God, Arata is 27 years old.
Like, this was always clear.
But for some reason it NEVER ocurred to me that he probably already had some girlfriend(s).
Maybe becaude he was so ridiculously dumb in the first chapters that the thought of THAT DUDE in a relationship never even crossed my mind. Even tho it should have been obvious. x'D
Reacting to these news, I was basically Kazuomi this chapter (excluding the Black Hole-level denseness). 🤣

It's strange how Arata fixates on the hypothetical person you'd be in love with being a girl. I don't get why he's limiting options like that. If people could only fall in love with girls, guys would not be loved at all. I don't think that's how it works.

Then there's the massive implication that being unmarried has to be a problem when other people in your friend group aren't. Like, you don't need to conform to what other people are doing. If they're your friends they won't hold it against you if you don't marry someone, even if they did marry someone.

As per usual, loads of weird assumptions/messages, but it all works out, because of course it does. Ohga is attracted to girls, specifically Kariu. He's not gay, bisexual, aromantic or just downright not interested in Kariu. He's just dense. Boring.

no, isn't it because ohga is overreacting like crazy that confirms it? Along with him not actually engaging that much with people other than kariu, esp not on a 1-to-1 basis. You don't get into a relationship in high school without a sustained friendship 90+% of the time.

And Kaizaki is at it with the attitude of "you seem like an ordinary guy who does guy things so i'll ask as if you're a guy," which is a bit crass for him but makes sense given his age. If they were considering a girl he'd default to asking if there was a guy she liked, unless he noticed something special.

If ohga was just like "nah i don't really have such plans" then it's easy to say "oh so he's ace/aro, probably" but his reaction to the first question sells the whole game away.

I mean from a conceptual standpoint it is less varied but isn't the person you're describing literally nobu?

As for the marriage issue, it's a symptom of kaizaki being an old bastard.
