That's the nature of male romantic writing. It's an idealized version of woman that either will not exist for the average boring dude, or only exists for an exceptional well made dude.

They're written to be self-inserted into. If you want a woman to treat you like this in real life then you have to be the guy that a woman finds worth in treating you like this. aka be better than her in every way or have her think you're better than her in every way.

The author is sort of painting into a corner here. Really the only avenue left for hateful friend is to become the villain of their relationship. How are we, the audience, supposed to sympathize with her? If the author wants to make us understand her view point as to why she hates the ML then they have to climb the hurdle of "She was perfectly okay with him becoming homeless." If the author wants us to understand or sympathize with why she wants to protect FL from ML, then it'll have to get passed the bar of her apparent cruelty. And even then it'll probably be something along the lines of either childishness like "She clearly likes him and that makes me upset" or a misguided need to protect her because she's the beautiful popular girl in a shounen romance manga and thus have never been approached by a boy without ulterior motives.

Also ML needs therapy. The boy's clearly been neglected to end up like that. Hateful friend should get some therapy too, holding on to that level of vitriol isn't good for you.
