So, if you were in his situation, and you found out the truth, that she manipulated your family and friends to make you homeless and then feigned ignorance about technology to get you to come to her house followed by taking that opportunity to invite you to live with her, you'd be totally comfortable and think, "Wow, she really does love me, this isn't a red flag at all?"

That's just the thing; I distinctly remember there being a whole chapter of her describing how she set everything up, right up to finding him on the bench in the park and putting her plan into action and inviting him. Then again, I also remember it being a cold night. I went and reread the whole series to find it, but was unsuccessful, so now I'm wondering if I'm mixing this one up with a series with a similar plot.

If I am wrong, and these are two different series, then no, she's not a bad person and I retract my statements.
