Okay, I... I don't know how to phrase this.
I already see, from how this chapter went, that we're NOT supposed to take this even slightly seriously. But I'm really, REALLY confused, and not in a good way. Wtf is going on?
I feel like the translation was...iffy...way too often. In part, I'm thinking it's cause of the original. I have the feeling the Japanese made liberal use of their usual shortening of phrases and drop of information, and you can't do that in English, so much of it was lost.
But then you add to that that Guri just plain doesn't say half the shit until hours or days later (like the virgin thing, or forced marriage).
But then there's the parts that just don't make sense? (Again, not sure if translation or og).
For example, "every couple which is formed through the use of this note will marry without fail". Okay. What that means is that IF, as a consequence of the kiss, they DECIDE to date, THEN they will marry without fail. Not that they must 100% marry JUST BECAUSE THEY KISSED. Or that they automatically become a couple just cause they kissed.
Page 24 also makes no fucking sense. "She likes you, so return her feelings. Don't all guys fantasize about kissing such a cute girl? Even if she confused some stuff. But at this rate you'll be a virgin forever [?????]. /How do I avoid that???/How about writing the name of a different girl?"
Uh... okay, first. What the fuck is that "but" doing there? There's no "but". He didn't interject to say anything like "well, she's too scare, so I can't". It's her monologue.
And what the fuck does he mean "how do I avoid that?"? By kissing her? Why does he have to write the name of a different chick?
Unless the point is that he's too scared of her now, to the point of not WANTING to kiss her even to avoid eternal virginity (cause remember the Kiss Note FORCES the kiss, it WILL happen. It's not like he has to somehow manage to trick her or anything). And if that's the case... couldn't we just have ONE filthy text bubble saying it?
Ugh... I know that future readers seeing this will think I'm ranting, or whining, or whatever, but I'm really not. It was fun, and funny, and I'm pretty sure I'll read till the end (cause I know it's the kind of ending I want).

This was a jam packed wtf chapter. Im not sure if im into this sort of thing...

It does get explained further on, but yeah the anime did a better job of explaining things I think.
