Even if a lot of people seem to dislike the ending, I enjoyed it nevertheless.

...but I'm sure we would all meet again on another trashy harem manga somewhere. That's what we do after all.

Seiji was a spineless asshole who should have gave Akane way more love.
Also Guri is the absolute worst trash.
Guri-san on the other hand is top tier.

happy harem end. what more could a man want?
7 volumes of akane. That's what a man wants im really glad I decided to read the manga for this anime because the anime end left alot of room for more story so I ended up here.

I like the ending overall, but Shikimi got treated pretty rough. The one with the most background and development is the only member of the main cast with no confession and no wedding, even though she also expressed feelings for Seiji.

Binged this over a couple of days.

It had great comedy and was light-hearted to the end, which I appreciated very much. The ending, I'm less keen on. Don't get me wrong, a harem manga getting an actual harem ending makes a lot of sense. I was quite alright with this ending, too... At least, at first, when I thought it was going to end up being a triad. As a team, Yuzu and Seiji would have a much easier time handling Akane's insanity, and Yuzu is clearly bisexual and never stopped lusting after her older sister. As much as Akane was going Yandere on the entire world, her sister was always the exception. Akane may not reciprocate her sexual advances (being either straight or Seiji-sexual), but if it's her sister, she doesn't mind sharing. It works.

Then he confessed to Guri as well, and I just can't help it, she feels like the fourth wheel on the tricycle. Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing. She feels more like a child than (post-epiphany)Shikimi does! There's no romantic or sexual tension involving her that I've noticed - not in the Guri/Seiji angle (beleaguered big brother/gremlin-like little sister), not Guri/Yuzu (simple friends), and not Guri/Akane (barely frenemies). I think I'm supposed to think that the tension that was present between Guri-san, her demon self, and Seiji also applies to Guri? Unfortunately, the last appearance by Guri-san suggests Guri doesn't remember being Guri-san, which makes them effectively two different people. Someone more wise in the ways of trashy harem manga enlighten me to what I'm missing, please.

In conclusion - not a clean landing, but they do say any landing you can still walk away from is a good one. (A great landing is when you can re-use the plane.)

So we don't get to see the proposal?

Also, again. I still kinda sorta hate Shikibitch, but if you're gonna add her anyway, why leave her as the odd one out?

Still, AMAZING that there's actually a harem ending. Super glad.

@Silfir I'd say the thing with Guri is that she wasn't developed quite right, but the hints were there. She just didn't know about love, so of course she's not on Akane's level. But much like Yuzu starts to realized that she thinks about Seiji as often as about Akane, Guri starts to realize that everything is "more fun" (and coming from Guri that is THE highest expression of love) when she shares it with Seiji.
And from Seiji's side, you're not quite wrong, there doesn't seem to be that "tension". But considering Guri's personality, you shouldn't expect a normal relationship either. She's like a rambunctious child, and him tagging along would be a form of love. If you ask me, Yuzu didn't get much development either.

I mean, at the end of the day this wasn't an AMAZING manga. Comedy was pretty high up there, but romance was not. A bunch of things didn't make sense, and progression was pretty stale, then jumped in one arc, then rinse and repeat.
So the way I see it, we just need to be happy that it was a "moderate" harem (4 really isn't that many) and that we got an harem ending including all 4.

@Metazoxan
This ending deserves praise simply for having an ACTUAL DAMN HAREM ENDING outside of an Isekai novel. The only other non Isekai I can think of with a legit harem ending was the anime Tenchi Muyo GXP!
I'll check that out, probably. Would you happen to have any other recommendations? Isekai is fine too. I'm just on the lookout for actual harem endings now.

@Tsumi
Try Fujimura-Kun Mates! It's a hilarious slapstick comedy that in a lot of ways is even more absurd than Renai Boukun. To-Love-Ru (and by extension To-Love-Ru Darkness) had a harem end, but it was left way too open-ended IMO. Gamble Fish, though not a big fan of the ending on that either. Sekirei is another.
May I request end spoilers on those? Like, not details, but...uh...how do I put it.
Seeing the recommendation, and considering it's here in this manga, I take it they are all harem endings? That's kinda what I'm looking for right now.

Fujimura seems okay, I guess, but not sure how to feel about the Drama tag in Sekirei. I'm more of a fan of fluff and comedy than drama...
Gamble Fish...why not a fan? And To-love-ru...not sure why I never read that, but why not a fan either?

Fujimura-Kun Mates:
It is a true harem end. The comedy is great all the way through, don't be put off by the description.

Sekirei:
It's a slice of life battle harem manga. The drama primarily involves the Sekirei battle and origin, with relationship dramas not being a major part of the story. True harem end.

Gamble Fish:
The ending was too open ended with no commitment as I recall. Debatable whether or not it is a true harem end.

To-Love-Ru:
True harem end, but I would have really liked to see what happens after their school years. Keep in mind that the author cut To-Love-Ru short due to personal issues before continuing with To-Love-Ru Darkness. Darkness keeps the harem end from the original, but once again I would have liked to see their adult life. Plus some plot holes were left unresolved.

It's a good point. Guri does fit into the family dynamic more than Shikimi does, even if it's more as the adoptive daughter than an actual romantic companion. Guri-san may be the author reassuring us that romance, and mutual physical attraction to Seiji, is in Guri's future. At that point I have no trouble believing she'd be pansexual enough to accomodate Akane and Yuzu.

Still. She can be part of the family without marrying into it. If she's too childlike to understand love, then she's too childlike to marry! I guess by the time the wedding happens, that problem is "solved" off-screen.

Anyway, enough of this harem manga. It's not my genre in the first place, there's just so many that they're hard to avoid.

@Silfir She WAS "too childlike" to understand love. I'd say it was resolved by the end. No actual progression, but resolved nonetheless.
And I'd argue there are many ways to not understanding love beyond "being childlike". Extreme example, but it popped into my mind, a person in an abusive relationship. They obviously don't understand love (either abuser and abused), but there's nothing childlike about it.

Anyway, enough of this harem manga. It's not my genre in the first place, there's just so many that they're hard to avoid.
Hey! What we have a garbagetruck of is Harem TAG with hitty mono endings. An actual Harem ending is quite rare 😂
But yeah, I understand that it's not for everyone.
Anyway, since you had that open question about Guri I figured I'd give my 2 cents. Safe travels ^^

@Tsumi
Now that I'm checking my plan to reads, I realize I had Fujimura-kun in my list. Guess that's the next. Also have "Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san". You wouldn't happen to know about it, while we're at it?

Thanks for the replies.
Not sure I understand the premise of To-Love-Ru and Darkness, tho. Like, does TLR have an actual end, and then Darkness is a sequel? Doesn't seem so, cause I'd bet on "adult life" as the sequel and you say there's none of that. So by "cutting short" you mean literally an axe? Maybe a "but their adventures were only just beginning" and then Darkness continues as if it hadn't been interrupted?
And therefore there's only one real "ending", which is in Darkness?
Sorry, did I manage to express myself there? 😅

It was one of those endings where all the girls confess but the guy doesn't actually pick.

The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs has a 99% guaranteed harem ending based on the light novel so far.

Well lets see.

Re:Monster- Sets the MC up with a harem long before it even hits the ending. Web Novel is a bit of a mess due to the author writing it like a literal diary sectioned off by days instead of chapters. The manga is better IMO as it combined day entries together to create chapters and adds in elements to make it less first person perspective. I haven't read the actual serialized novel yet but I don't think it's available online. Since it's often hard to find people willing to translate those for legal reasons.

Everyone Else is a Returnee- A rather good novel that gets a little lost with it's plot near the end but wraps it up in an overall satisfying manner.

Stop, Friendly Fire!- From same author as EER. Harem element is weaker here as the author was intentionally trying to avoid writing another harem but ended up falling into it anyway. Overall still a good read.

I Became a Living Cheat- IMO the MC is a bit of an idiot in this one but overall still worth reading.

Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome Desu- have not finished this one but the start seemed decent.

Try these out along with the other recommendations others gave.
