Yeah, I agree. At first, I was hoping this series would turn out to be a pleasant reading, a haven to escape from OnK potential tragedies and dramas in the future. But hell no, I believe her mental is on par with emo Aqua.

Also Pon is seemed to be succeed to get Kon to know him, consider Kon doesn't seemed interested in her own romantic life, that is the closest thing to a lover. Gonna cheer them up more.

As per the Kaguya-sama example that clearly Aka is revisiting in depth here, that is not necessarily true. Given that Kon is an hikkikomori, already making yourself known to her is a challenge, and Pon succeeded, and if we consider that Kon even has a goddamn poster of Pon in her room that is quite the success.

Now it is all about how Pon planned to justify his actions, and I can see that being done via a direct challenge of Pon seducing Kon and viceversa, with Pon showcasing what he learned and revealing he studied all about love by chasing her. If Pon beats Kon in a direct 1v1, she will accept him both as a fair rival and peer. From there to lovers it is not that hard!

At this point he's firmly established with her, so he could perhaps just switch around and be nice. That'll at least confuse her, which will be fun.

Well, it's not like an unlikeable character makes for a bad story. Many of the Kaguya characters had a bunch of unlikeable traits. Though that was also more humour-focused. And he does focus more on the boys here.
