Asunaro moved on from being a trashy generic-ass harem MC to actually being a better person. If he could do it, then you could, too!

(This message is brought to you by Harem MCs Anonymous.)

Jokes aside, I quite like the ending. Thanks for the TLs!

Ok two massive flaws here.
One wasn't his "luck" their luck being shifted to him and the winner?
and two how is the game over? She wasn't in control, she set it up and it was then automated. Her dying shouldn't end it. She could influence it, but that it killed her shows its part of a system outside just her. It should still be active, and just be no longer receiving updates (which would leave the current challenge active).

No, his Luck was always destined to be shared with whoever would become his wife. The game was just meant to facilitate that happening and securing the heroine's spot as his future spouse.

It wasn't fully automated, she could create events and change rules and such on the fly. So it was more so that it was only partially automated. Overall though, it was still tied to her magic so if she loses power then the app should die down too. Realistically though, Zepa shouldn't have lost though. The entire thing was tied directly to Asunaro's feelings, there's no reason why he should've been able to fake those feelings (to a magic app) let alone weaponize them at the end. Also it makes no sense that another heroine could be added when it was specifically made to be a game for him and for his crushes at the time and no one else. What if he got a crush on someone else during the time this whole thing took place? Or he keeps crushing because he realizes he can just have an infinite harem. It's one of those things you'd easily figure out is problematic from just thinking about it a bit. It's a rushed ending, clearly, but it's what we got.

Really... I just think that "Asunaro" is an asinine name. Poor guy.

Wasn't the rich girl added late in the first place. And no not fully automated, but clearly there were set rules that she could not change, it had its own power. That it was able to kill her would mean its not all her, but has its own reserve poured into it.

As for your problem of the fake feelings, it feels like they simplified and beautified the scene to make it a happy end. The whole he realized their intention without speech felt like a change by a editor.
It felt like the original script was they tricked him into thinking of her as a love interests, then reviled the truth to him which ruined his impression of her. But to give him a redemption it was changed to him realizing the plan on his own. A bit of rushing, and the need to make it a flashy scene for the mc to come out on top muddled it a bit.

Thank you so much for translating this until the end!! I'm glad I can FINALLY see the whole journey to the end. Probably need to re-read to say more about the series as a whole, but overall, I enjoyed the ride and like the ending. As someone who loves harems AND death games, this manga is a delight for me, a great mix of both worlds. Written by one of my favorite authors no less.

I went back to check and apparently she was always there, she just hid her identity so they all assumed it was just the 4 of them.

Even in the other translation, it's not that she was added later but that she kept herself hidden and contacted Asanuro behind their backs. She does mention that she wouldn't consider it weird if Zepa added more heroines later on to mess with them, but that's more paranoia than anything else. So yeah, game was meant for him and the 5 girls specifically, yet somehow there's a mechanic to add new girls in that she didn't think of or inform him of.

And no not fully automated, but clearly there were set rules that she could not change, it had its own power. That it was able to kill her would mean its not all her, but has its own reserve poured into it.

In that case we can call it a bonafide plot hole~

Yeah he doesn't come off as like he knew all along, and there was no implication he was even practicing messing with his own emotions. There is some clear interference in the writing at work and you're probably right on that being an editor's call.

Despite the short amount of pages. The fact he DID improve was much better to see it. although it isn't uncommon I'm glad this series was finally translated to the end. There is also another series that the Anime man recommended to his viewers about a manga where the MC dies and has to help people not die. That never did get translated. Nonetheless I'm glad we finally saw the end Thanks TL!

Thanks for finishing it, plot holes and all. Throwing a demon into hell just seems like throwing the rabbit into the briar patch.

What a weak ending, to an overall very underwhelming series. A somewhat entertaining premise primed to be a critique of harem slop and the lack of integrity the romantic prospects have instead just steadily devolves into the very same harem slop. It's a shame Ryukishi07 has lost his edge and chooses to make vapid junk like this these days.

But regardless, thanks for finally finishing up the translation of this.

Earlier chapters were a bit of a slogfest, but things started getting better when the heroines got development by the second volume. I'm glad the direction shifted from death game to deadly slice of life. The manga has a bad habit of dragging things out. The worst offense imo was when Serika and Ren were too busy playing chess face-to-face. Ending is strangely satisfying. I actually wanted to see them all go back to being their own people and improving, instead of doing the open harem ending like other works do to be safe, but seeing everyone decide to take things slower somehow works. Not a bad read overall, but this is a hit-or-miss for a recommendation.
