how long are these chapters normally? The .X chapters are like 13 pages each?

I gotta ask: is there any point to the whole "lets have a misunderstanding where a character is painted as a pervert despite having done nothing wrong" thing? So far it has done nothing but piss me off and sour my opinion on two of the main characters. Im assuming its meant to be comical but are there really people who find it funny?
Surely if you want nanase to be antagonistic towards the mc you could atleast have him do something to earn that ire instead of having things happen to him. And i think the manga has already done a good job of displaying akane as an asshole who sabotages the love life of her supposed friend so you dont really need to have her feed into this situation.
Mayb this is just a cultural divide and these kinds of jokes are a hit in japan.
