Harsh but true. What i find funny is that despite knowing that this is a problem and the term herbivore man came from Japan, they still actively promote it via their media (anime, manga, novels and etc.). And media has a strong influence if it's being consumed in massive amounts and it is due telephones and internet.
Do they expect women to take action? To my knowledge women hate men like that, there were even interviews in Japan about that and women clearly stated they expect men to take the first stem and that they seek masculine men. Shit can change, but women are slowest to adapt, they are natural conservatives in that sense.
