My understanding is that she wasn't planning to do something to him without his consent, but rather was trying to sway him into showing his "true colors" to make her feel better about her own deep-seated self-loathing. This is still immoral, but meaningfully different. In any case, he doesn't know what her intentions were, so to him it looked as though she came onto him very strong while possibly drunk, stopped when he firmly turned her down, and now seems not to remember the incident. If he were a mind-reader I'm sure he would be more concerned, but we should keep in mind that as readers we know many things he doesn't.
