Asian hatred of freckles man, I'll never understand.
It’s
related to the historical correlation of paleness -> able to afford to stay inside -> rich.
If you have freckles, that means you work, or spend time, in the sun. Just like
peasants. Whitening creams, lightening serums, skin bleaching, it’s all a thing.
Similar to this, wrinkles. Again, somewhat related, exposure to sun, but mostly being active, means you age faster. What are you, a
peasant?
Adjacent but not quite related, big eyes. Again, age plays a factor. Once you’re born your eyes don’t grow as much as the skull they’re attached to, so as you age the relation between eye size and skull size diminishes; the eyes are "smaller". Since we don’t know if Sumire is near-sighted or far-sighted, but if
she’s the former then the glasses would "shrink" the apparent eye size. In the restaurant she presumably wore contacts, and now she’s wearing glasses. Like. A.
Peasant.
Sumire’s also wearing casual, traditional, and most importantly, shape-concealing clothes. It’s light, airy, clothes that didn’t draw the (male) gaze, in contrast to Miracle-ken, where she wore a shirt an apron, hugging the body and accentuating the female body shape. Like a
whore service industry worker who is societally required to appeal to certain demographics.
Related to this apparent body size: she
appears to weigh more with silhoutte concealing clothes compare to figure accentuating clothes. That means she’s fat by asian beauty standards and unable to maintain discipline and keep at a healthy weight—see stick-figure, quasi-anorexic BMI—like a
peasant.
All that is to say, salaryman is still a dick. Which is arguably worse than a
peasant, since the former is a character flaw, whereas the latter is just a derogatory insult for people on the wrong side of pageantry.
