Hi, the reason I stopped uploading to Mangadex is to follow the guidelines from MD staff about series that were hit by the DMCA in May: we must not re-upload old chapter and should not upload new chapters.Disclaimer: I am not the scanlator, not affiliated with the group. I'm just re-uploading from the OG source. I think they abandoned Dex for this after this was hit with the DMCA thing. (I found nothing in the group info or credits pages asking not to upload here, so here they are.)
It's the whole "porcelain/jade skin" thing. It's stupid. Treats anyone without pale skin untouched by sun as a pleb, and thus ugly.Asian hatred of freckles man, I'll never understand.
Good to know. I didn't know the part about new chapters, my bad. (I assumed re-uploading removed ones would just cause legal problems.)Hi, the reason I stopped uploading to Mangadex is to follow the guidelines from MD staff about series that were hit by the DMCA in May: we must not re-upload old chapter and should not upload new chapters.
I'm OK with other people uploading here, which is why I unlocked the group permissions, but be aware that you do that at your own risk and that it may trigger a new response from the publisher.
To the readers: if you didn't see the earlier announcement, I moved to releasing chapters with Cubari, and you can also get more info on our Discord server.
... did you post this to the wrong thread? There was no sexual violence, she was the one who instigated everything as was very clearly shown. But I guess you’re just gonna keep pretending she’s not a monster, huh?
Oh, I'm aware of how colorism is related to the dislike of freckles in Asia, and how it's a class issue. I have the knowledge, but I don't UNDERSTAND, if you get what I'm saying? Like, pale skin, dark skin, freckles, etc. all can be amazing. Biasing yourself against something just because thousands of years ago people viewed it through a upper class/lower class lens is just silly behavior. It’s related to the historical correlation of paleness -> able to afford to stay inside -> rich.
If you have freckles, that means you work, or spend time, in the sun. Just like peasants. Whitening creams, lightening serums, skin bleaching, it’s all a thing.
Similar to this, wrinkles. Again, somewhat related, exposure to sun, but mostly being active, means you age faster. What are you, a peasant?
Adjacent but not quite related, big eyes. Again, age plays a factor. Once you’re born your eyes don’t grow as much as the skull they’re attached to, so as you age the relation between eye size and skull size diminishes; the eyes are "smaller". Since we don’t know if Sumire is near-sighted or far-sighted, but if she’s the former then the glasses would "shrink" the apparent eye size. In the restaurant she presumably wore contacts, and now she’s wearing glasses. Like. A. Peasant.
Sumire’s also wearing casual, traditional, and most importantly, shape-concealing clothes. It’s light, airy, clothes that didn’t draw the (male) gaze, in contrast to Miracle-ken, where she wore a shirt an apron, hugging the body and accentuating the female body shape. Like awhoreservice industry worker who is societally required to appeal to certain demographics.
Related to this apparent body size: she appears to weigh more with silhoutte concealing clothes compare to figure accentuating clothes. That means she’s fat by asian beauty standards and unable to maintain discipline and keep at a healthy weight—see stick-figure, quasi-anorexic BMI—like a peasant.
All that is to say, salaryman is still a dick. Which is arguably worse than a peasant, since the former is a character flaw, whereas the latter is just a derogatory insult for people on the wrong side of pageantry.
