idk if i'd be into camping even if it was 'glamping' (versus maybe a cabin in the woods, horror tropes aside) but i wouldn't mind it in a group of friends/guide who knew what they were doing. but i imagine some JP ppl might be pre-dispositioned into liking it with all the slice of life ones having a 'school trip' where they make curry or so on a campsite but wouldn't be surprised if they usually stayed in some kinda cheap hotel/indoors thing versus full on campsite versus them all affording their own tent or maybe parents complaining if they can't supervise (tho privacy aside and stuff wouldn't be surprised if a handful of popular student vloggers post about those kinda trips buti 'm tangenting lol)


i'm surprised karin even has any 'outdoorsy' clothes, i guess a long skirt isn't impossible to move in/not as out of place as a fashionable ruffled/mini skirt, but yeah she def doesn't suit a camping kinda lifestyle, good she knows her weaknesses but surprised karin didn't want it to be a more 'popular instagrammable' place tho she basically is semi blackmailed into playing along (tho even as a kid you'd think being the 'popular girl' wouldn't be enough if the other girls were helping/teachers supervising)

if i didn't know this was gonna drag out over 100 chapters , i would've half expected something fucked up like them planning an 'accident' for the husband to heavily disable him to 'test' how well karin would've been at taking care of him/manipulate them into him overhearing her talking about 'pulling the plug' and all that kinda soap opera drama

i don't know if it's a translation thing but is there a diff between 'raw wood' and 'dry branches' (otherwise it just simply looks like she didn't get enough/too thin but i'd think chopping down firewood would be too much)

I think the point is that she was supposed to get dead branches that burn well and instead she got fresh ones that burn poorly and produce a lot of smoke, because she doesn't know anything about camping.

i guess using 'local' stuff is fine but i wouldn't be surprised if there was a nearby store all along that'd sell useful wood, like that one chapter in yaiteru futari where they got a specific log to smoke/cook with lol (tho sumire was able to make it work with the cutting? wonder if it's common knowledge among campers or if the mangaka had to look it up)

tho yeah that's something you have to specify but i guess it's something one would've learned in youth from experience like how we saw a flashback of the other boys doing work while she just sat back
