Well she was still able to get married once "despite" looks but I can imagine him unintentionally pitying her but still wiling to help

Tho Surprised we haven't seen her react to smaller acts of ppl being subconsciously nicer to her and her "enjoying" her sudden "pretty privilege" or whatever but other than someone somehow noticing and acting awkward I imagine even with friendly/polite customer service ppl might be going outta their way to help if she goes out dressed up and maybe pushing some luxury products on her lol

(Or even a flashback comparison where they react to their ugliness but try not to say anything/being surprised but I wouldn't think it was anything super deformed, watched a couple eps of the live action idk if they did anything to the og actress but she just looks more plain and middle aged if not a bit "tired" and thick upper lids; she wasn't particularly overweight looking even tho that's a bit also associated with Asian beauty standards but the subs said that she even removed some of her ribs too which can't be healthy for ur body vs simply lipo

apparently it's a thing but unless you're like, born with extra ribs or it'd somehow be 'better' for your back/posture, feels risky (at one point she is wearing something around her waist/torso to 'correct' her posture but that was part of a 'training' montage to become someone diff, b/c she also 'retrained' her other hand to be dominant as well as getting new clothes and makeup as well)

but yeah if you really had to, at that point just get lipo or exercise (even if she didn't necessarily have 'time' to work on her body/the stereotypical 'obese woman loses weight and becomes beautiful', i'd hope a lipo recovery wouldn't be as bad, but it's not as if she was supposed to be fat to begin with/it didn't look like the actress wore a fat suit or anything)

there wasn't a separate actress credited on MDL for mc, so i assume it's some kinda makeup for her 'before' look, i guess her skin does look like a bit fake/that latex stuff layered over on top for her eyes and nose

they chose a great actress with a 'cunning face' for karin too, dunno if she usually gets typecast for the meangirl type tho a brief glance at her asianwiki page shows she's been in a few medical themed dramas
