I always have a sort of bemused eye-roll that apparently the worst thing someone can be outside of an actual, outright immoral monster is excessively prideful, boasting, and explicitly fishing for compliments and praise. Like the surest shortcut to show someone is a complete tool is to have them do something of minimal value and then they boisterously laugh and demand that others praise them in the bluntest way possible (usually just "praise me!")

I get the cultural context that explains the "why", but it doesn't make it any less jarring or ridiculous looking as an outsider.

It's also silly that it seems to go hand-in-hand with that sort of behavior being treated as precocious and endearing when a kid does it (or in some cases for a mature person, usually a woman, to act that way as if it scores major moe points).

Nothing to spoil here, because the manga is technically ahead of the Light Novel lol, which is something that happen from time to time with this serie (something i would expect, given how many series the author have going as manga and novel still)

At Manga Chapter 80, it pretty much adapted until the end of LN Volume 6 which is the latest Volume, whenever Volume 7 release, is going to cover this whole Arc from Chapter 81 until whenever this thing we're at end
